GREETINGS more SYDNEY!!

Hey all!!
how's everyone back in Singapore, Melbourne and Perth?

a conversation before this entry... ...

Zhen: Wan Tan why suddenly inspired to write a blog entry?

Wan Tan: hmm.. cos class blog stagnant for very long liaoz..
Year 2 class rep has to do sth about it!!!

so.. here i am..
doing up a blog entry...

well.. as you can see from the pictures above..
we have been hanging out with andrea when she's not working..
we even baby-sitted her on one occasion..
and that's when your steamboat session occurred...

we have been travelling around a lot...
visiting the places of interest...
and eating the good food around..
yah.. we know Perth and Melbourne are eating better food though..
ours not too bad also.. HEE!

school.. on the other hand.. has been quite.. erm..
not too slack i would say..
so many assignments.. just like those days in NYP..
datelines and more datelines on the first week of school..
the coursemates arent really receptive about having us around..
really miss everyone back in NYP..
helping each other.. hugging around.. singing and doing crazy stuff in class..
it's totally a different scene here..

but something interesting here would be the way the lecturers teach...
a lot more experience sharing rather than theory..
students are.. in fact.. encouraged to discuss issues during lecture as well..
very interactive..
students will question when they are not clear with what's being taught..
or may even challenge ideas..

yup...
so far.. everything's good...
the weather is still crazy and fluctuates like mad..
but hope it will get better...

everyone please take care k..
see you all SOON!!

yup...
CEYU!!
blog rep......
update lehz......

Happy OT Day! =)

Sunday, January 14, 2007

hello.. hello... hello..

so quiet for about 3 months already...
can even hear my echo...
ok.. this is lame...

so.. its our final sem here in NYP...
and everyone is extremely busy...
eh.. just want to say..
cherish our final times being a student before we step out into the real world...
and most importantly..
we should take more pictures for memorial purposes..
as i think we have stopped taking pictures for quite some time eh...

Love,
Jessica Tan

It's Never Ending Isn't It?

Apologies for allowing this class blog to become so stagnant. When will we ever have time like before to post about funny stories? Will we have any more legendary tales to be posted again?
I suppose most of us are all exhausted from school... I know I am. I'm passing each daze in such a daze that I'm starting to fear that I might need to go for a psy ax. *faints*
Anyway... just want to cheer everyone up! Hope ya enjoy! *smiles*
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...
always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumpsD
on't be silly chumpsJ
ust purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...
always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!) Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.) Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!)Always look on the right side of life...

It Ain't Easy Being Green

To my dearest OT0402...

How is everyone? 2 weeks of clinical placements have passed, and I certainly wish that each and everyone is going great and coping well.

Realise that the class blog has been really dull, and I really cannot blame anyone... We're all busy, and for my part as blog rep, haven't been trying hard enough to make this place more lively. Haha. So, apologies if there's nothing much happening here. But I do encourage everyone to post more on the class blog ok? Feel free to talk about anything and everything! I'm sure everyone has loads to say about during placements. Heehee.

Have added in some class pictures... hope you guys like it. Haven't come up with a theme for the class blog. Any suggestions? Any preference? Let the blog team know alrights!

Okays, just want to say something to everyone.... "IT AIN'T EASY BEING GREEN"! As how Kermit sings about it. But for us, it aint' easy being an OT. And it certainly ain't easy being green, i.e. lacking in experience. For sure, we are equipped with all the knowledge in school, yet out there in the world, in reality, we often find ourselves overwhelmed and lost.

Here's a little story to share with you....

Many years ago as a boy, an acquaintance of mine dreamed of being a fighter pilot... the very best! Some years later he had joined the U S Air Force and got his chance to go to flight school. He related that when he first got there, he was told in clear and certain terms that he was - as of that very moment - a pilot.

He was then quickly informed that he just needed to improve greatly in one area - that of experience - to be a better one. This was a concept and an attitude that was to serve him well in the challenging times. He was to draw from this not only as a pilot, but also in his daily living!

When the monotony of repeated practice drills got overwhelming, he only had to remember, "You are a fighter pilot - you only need to improve in experience to be a better one" - it somehow became a little easier.

Sometimes frustration, lack of sleep (because of long hours needed for study), and a constant nagging fear of failure were almost too much for him. He felt like quitting! It was then he needed to remember what he'd been told: "You are a fighter pilot - you need only to improve your experience to be a better one"!

Daily he remembered... and renewed his commitment to his dream. When his schooling was completed and he graduated at the top of his class - he was just a little taller - ashe saluted, then accepted his diploma. He really was a pilot! Of course... he had been one from day one!

Now... he was a better one! So much better in fact, that he was asked to stay and teach at this very same school. He had something of great value, some-thing others wanted, his experience! He was a flight instructor for a number of years before he retired as certainly one of the best!

Through all this, the rewards given him by senior officers and peers were nothing compared to the reward he had given himself! He realized his dream.... he was the best pilot he could be!

Something needs to be said here for experience. You see, you can study and learn - all there is to "know" about a particular thing. My friend knew all about the aircraft - the hydraulic systems, the gages, lights and controls, and all of it's aerodynamics and capabilities. But until he strapped on the parachute and logged some flight-time... he did not reach his full potential... and he did not realize his dream to be the best!

If you think about it, this makes all the sense in the world! We are - at least on the inside - whatever we truly want to be! We owe it to ourselves to go after the experience... to be a better "pilot"! It makes it all a little easier - with a daily commitment to our dreams...and not giving up... but remembering what we've been told!

So my friends, gain as much experience as you can for these 6 weeks... strive hard!! And most importantly, hang in there. You'll get there... eventually =)

And you never know... this may just happen to you....

ALL your VOTES matter!!!!!!!!!

hey ppl........
now that the Singapore's General Elections is over..

the NEXT most impt election is coming up.. though its in a smaller scale.. but all your votes (though only a handful voted in the GE cos all of us are not born in the year 1984 earlier) does matter a million times more than that for the GE..

so now.. the nomination process should start.. so.. ppl.. nominate for those whom u think can take up the position as the CLASS REP and TREASURER.... pls also note that Jessica Tan, Soh Yan Ming and Lee Hong Rui have served OT0402 and should not be nominated this time round..

NOMINATE WISELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post Number 101

Yeah!! Post Number 101!!

Just wanted to say..... we need to take more pictures!! Especially as a class.... with EVERYONE!! and most importantly, in the photograph we can see everyone's face!!! It's almost 2 years already.. and we don't have a decent one with the whole class, with everyone's face clearly shown... except the meal preparations one. How sad......

So... if anyone has any pictures of the whole class.... send to me okay? Then I can put it onto the class blog. Anyway, bring your cameras any time. Take more pictures! Then at least... in the event we want a yearbook..... we have pictures to CHOOSE from. Hahaha...

Alrights. Take care everyone.. and all the best for the exams!

Cobwebs

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

Alrights. I see that this place is seriously gathering and breeding spiders. It's really dusty and quiet in here. Oh well... yes I do know that as a blog rep I should be doing something about it...

But then, I'm only human.. I'm rather 'dry' of new ideas for entries here. Haha. Perhaps this semester just isn't as happening as before? Haha. I don't know.

Anyway, here is the link for the pictures that Cel has taken for the LLD seminar. Thanks Cel! *smiles*

Okay. So... let's see. What is the 'happening' thing in OT now? The newbies of OT? Haha. Have yet to meet the new year ones... so for those of you who have met the new cohort... any comments/opinions? Haha.

Wash your socks everyday. Air your shoes (we don't want more viral warts *chuckles*)

Shit everyday. (hahahaha... :P)

Go to the toilet more often. (Go easy on your bladders ok?)
